Pandoras Box

    Narrowly escaping the Saucer, Rusev told his fleet to return to low atmosphere while the Halcyon and Repair Ship stayed in orbit. Rusev ordered the ship to move over Berlin,Germany. Rusev saw fighter jets fly past the ship, then two Tripods slaughtering thousands of people. On several communication frequencies he overheard a defense force know as the European Union trying to fight off the Alien threat but to no avail. He heard that many soldiers were being lost in the conflict. When his ships were overhead, the soldiers and civilians looked up above them thinking that these were their last moments. Rusev saw many brave soldiers being lost in the battle against the tripods. He felt great sorrow for the brave men who were losing their lives for the defenseless civilians, so he decided to help out with the fighting against the tripods. He opened the COMM relay, "send over 4 Longswords and a Pelican full of troops to engage those tripods." As the Longswords and Pelican deployed, the Tripod turned around to fire at the Pelican. "Bomb it to hell" Rusev exclaimed. As the Pelican landed and dropped off a squad of troopers, the Longswords dropped bombs on the first Tripod. The legs of the Tripod buckled, smoke started venting from the sides and back of the Tripod, an Insurrectionist trooper fired a single rocket at the tripod, it exploded. The second one was firing at the troopers, but they were returning fire with Snipers, Grenade Launchers, and Rockets, the Tripod showed the same signs of weakening, then the Longswords dropped bombs on it too, and the tripod went down in flames. The civilians and soldiers all cheered knowing they had protection once again, Rusev stated "Good work men." Then Rusev turned to his Lieutenant and said, "Lieutenant get me a Pelican, I'm going down to the surface maybe then we can see what this Alien attack was about."  

    As Rusev's Pelican landed in the streets of Berlin he was greeted by two soldiers armed with 21st century guns. When Rusev exited the Pelican with his helmet under his right arm, the soldiers let out a sigh of relief seeing that he was human. Rusev asked "Take me to your commanding officer". One of the soldiers said "wait who are you in the first place?" Rusev replied with "I'm the Commander of the ship that saved you guys. The soldier replied with "alright follow me he's just down the street". Halfway down the street Rusev questioned "Have these alien attacks been happening all over Earth?", the solider replied with "yes London and Paris were hit merely hours before we were, but they didn't turn out so lucky as we did". Rusev thought to himself "why are these aliens attacking Earth, what could they possibly want here?" Then the first soldier that spoke to him said "my name is Eric ". "Well, nice to meet you Eric" Rusev replied. "The other guy next to me that's Armondo he doesn't speak much English but he's a nice guy", Eric stated. Rusev smiled at Armondo and he smiled back, "well the Commander is just up ahead i'll introduce you too him" Eric said.

As Rusev approached the Commander, the Commander reached for a rifle holstered on his back, Eric said "It's fine he's on our side", the Commander responded with "alright, but who in the hell is he", Eric replied hastily with "he was the guy that saved our asses from those tripods", "oh so you sent those bombers and troops to destroy the two tripods" the Commander replied. "Indeed I did" Rusev said. "Thanks for the help we would've died if not for you" the Commander stated , "don't mention it" Rusev responded. " So I've heard that other nations have been hit by these things" Rusev stated, "yes America, Russia, and China were attacked when we were hit" the Commander replied, "but some force known as the Covenant has been helping America fight off the threat, just picked it up on the radio minutes before you got here". "No it can't be, it's just not possible" Rusev said out loud to himself. " Commander looked at him strange and asked "what is it", "nothing" Rusev replied "I have to tell my fleet and men about this" Rusev said "before I head over I hope we can make an alliance". "Surely" the Commander said "I will notify my Superiors of this new-found alliance with.. wait what is your force called?", "The Insurrection" Rusev replied. "Alright, thank you for all that you have done." "No problem" Rusev replied, "I will be sticking around here for a little while to help out with what I can" , "okay" the Commander responded happily knowing he had a new ally. After the conversation Rusev walked over to his men to tell them the Covenant were also on Earth.

"We shall fight through the city center to the oracle and the human leaders." Voras replied over his coms. He looked back down at the humans who looked up at him in terror. He heard yet another horn in the distance, in fact, just down the street in front of him. A tripod walked out from behind the larger midtown buildings and snapped it's head in the Scarab's direction. The humans that had been running away from Voras were now trapped between the two behemoths. The Scarab opened fire, and began withering the tripod's shields.

The Sangheili lance sent to recover the Oracle was pinned down. Three tripods were laying siege to the United Nations, the only thing that kept them at bay was the Covenant air support. Instead of focusing their fire, the tripods kept adjusting to try and fire at the passing Seraphs as they strafed. Their Phantom had been shot down almost as soon as they arrived, leaving them with no exit. The humans had already taken heavy losses, though they fought with a ferocity that the Sangheili knew well. The human leaders were uninjured, but that might change soon. The humans were waiting for their own aircraft to extract them, though they must have been fools to believe that that would happen. No doubt most human military was preoccupied, or dead.

The Transcendence continued to pepper the Destroyer with torpedoes, to no affect. "Two new contacts, Sire!" The operations officer yelled out! "Unknown build. Doesn't match alien construction patterns. They're approaching from the west." A hologram of the unknown vessels appeared in front of Idyu. 
"Interesting... Delegate three Seraph squadrons to engage. I shall not take any chances. 

Three groups of Seraph fighters split off from the city and accelerated to super sonic speeds to cross the distance to engage the unknown. The fighter's immediately launched plasma torpedoes to engage the two small warships.

Acies sighs as fighters once again approach his ships. He once again gets up, opening up the holo-screen again and sliding a few things before turning his head and signaling one of his crew with a hand gesture to hail the opposing ship before placing his hands behind his back. "Full starboard sheilds! Block the fire with them, and ready the emp, I want to be ready if this gets messy." He shouts to his crew over the ships com as the torpedoes collided with his sheilds, his ship shaking lightly.

The Martian Destroyer stopped above the city, incidentally directly above the city center. (Midtown Manhattan.) "Sire, we're receiving a hail from one of the unknown vessels." The communications officer reported. 
"Answer their hail, and put them on screen." Idyu ordered then added. "Intensify firepower, sacrifice shield strength if you must. We must destroy that vessel!"

When a human's face filled his screen, Idyu was confused. But he didn't show it. "Human... Explain yourself." 

Three lance's of Unggoy, led by a Sangheili each moved up behind the tripods as Trace attacked. Almost all the grunts were armed with heavy weapons and began opening fire, setting up plasma turrets, and deploying portable cover shields. One tripod turned to face the grunts and prepared to open fire. Far down the street behind the infantry though, two purple machines slowly made their way forward, pushing cars and vehicles to the side as the advanced. Covenant Wraith artillery tanks. The two tanks opened fire from several blocks away, their plasma mortars arcing through the air. With the combined fire of the Heavy weapons the tripod's shields faltered. The Seraphs that had been bombing the walkers to distract them now had their chance. Two seraphs flew low and let loose their torpedoes, easily destroying the unshielded tripod. Two phantoms suddenly approached from the river side to extract the humans, the oracle, and their alien protectors.

Voras roared in triumph as the scarab destroyed the tripod with ease, finishing it off with it's AA turret. He had seen Trace move off toward the oracle's position and began to follow. He saw the second tripod blown apart by the seraph fighters and immediately his scarab began to focus fire at the third and final tripod. Under combine fire the walker was easily toppled. Voras disembarked from the scarab and made his way over to the united nations, wanting to see the damage himself.
