David was just as bored as his new "room mate" having bean assigned to guard the flag as well. He was decked out in standard leather armor and switched to a pair of Celestial bronze daggers to prevent any major accident. David looked over to James and said "cheer up man its kinda normal for the new guys to be putt on flag deference".

They were about halfway to their destination, so Shawn decided to ditch them. "Don't worry, mate, I'll watch you. Just stay in your position and you'll be fine. " After that Shawn took off ahead and clambered up the side of a tree, disappearing into the dense canopy.

As the CTF game had officially started, several Hermes cabin kids who were playing poker somewhere behind the flag area, realized that the game had started and they weren't in positions, began running forward. James attempted to barter with several of them to take over his spot but said something about not wanting to get *ss r#ped, Jason was shocked into silence and just continued guarding with an awkward bewildered look on his face.

Shawn made his way to the top of his tree and looked down at the ground below. He used his gift and his eyes turned grey, he could pick up everything around him, everything on the other side of the creek... Shawn had never told anyone of his ability, he just didn't care to. He saw a small group of red outlines running straight at their side, and a larger number of red outlines running around both sides. The blue outlines of their own team were spread along the creek and either engaging red or trying to push up. Both the north and south lines of blue collapsed to the mass of red working around the sides. They began working around to the read guard, and it was then he knew they were screwed. Shit... He began quickly climbing back down the tree to try and get to the flag.

As the sound of battle where heard David looked over to his teammate James "looks like your first game will be sending you straight in the deep end" he said as he calmly shifted the grip on his knifes bracing for the coming onslaught.

James was about to ask David what he meant, but they were soon surrounded by a bunch of Ares cabin kids. One of the kids said, "Why don't you just let us take the flag and you might get away unscarred?" James readied his shield and sword. "It's my first time but I'm not going to let you win that easy."

Shawn started leaping through the branches as campers bought below him, paying him no mind. He stopped at the edge of a clearing, and saw their teams flag planted prominently atop Zeus' Fist. A group of rocks that looks like it's name sake from one direction, and a pile of shit from another. Obviously people were banned from calling it the latter. Ares cabin members lined the edge of the clearing below him, while David and James were near the rocks preparing to fight. Shawn stood up on the branch he was on, and pulled his hood up over his head. One cocky son of a bitch started walking toward David and James, shouting taunts. "Awe, they got the poor new kid on guard. We don't wanna make him cry, do we guys?"
Shawn ran down the length of the branch which led out toward the center of the clearing. He leaped at the last second, making sure the annoying kid was right below him. Shawn crashed into him feet first and rolled forward to slow himself. He ended up standing right next to David and James, but he didn't pay them any mind. He turned back around and drew his sword... Only to see the kid he crashed into passed out on the ground. Well shit... He glanced back at his two friends. "You two ready to dance?" He asked with a smirk.

David let a small smirk "nice of you to drop by Shawn" he said jokingly before another Ares camper charged armed with a stranded sword and shield . "hold that thought it seems my dance begins now" he said before charging forward. The Ares camper went for a straight vertical swing David quickly caught the sword with his daggers in a x formation locking the sword in place. Unfortunately David did not have time to block the shield bash knocking him back but he ended up tacking the sword with him "come on join the party" David said with a slight wince .

James got into a fight with one of the Ares kids he managed to hold his ground a bit, but he didn't have nearly as much training has him. James was pushed to the ground. He began getting back up when an arrow hit him in the side. He fell down gripping his side.

"Did you just... Fuck you." Shawn said and manages to shoot him a glare before he starts kicking some kid's ass. Another Ares kid rushes up, gunning right for Shawn. He looks about 14. But he also looks new. Easy enough... Shawn dodges his first stab by side stepping. He grabs the kid's arm with his left hand and forces it up in the air. The kid tries backing up and leaves himself open for a stab to the gut. Shawn's new sword easily pierces the armor and stabs the kid, but he doesn't stab too far, he doesn't wanna kill him. The kid brings both his hands down to clutch the wound, Shawn yanks his short sword away as he does and bashes him in the face with the pummel of said sword. The kid falls back down onto the ground, bleeding from his nose and groaning in pain.
"Bit of a boring party, it suppose to be this easy?" Shawn yells to David. He glances around to quickly take in the situation. Alright... David kicking ass... James almost dead... And Clarrise is charging at me... Wait... CLARRISE IS CHARGING AT ME!? Shawn manages to sidestep the tip of Clarrise's spear, but doesn't dodge the shield that crashes into his face. "Fuck!" He yells. Without looking back he yells again. "David, James is almost dead, when you're done flirting save his ass!"

Four Ares kids now had James surrounded, he didn't know why they had such intent on killing them. James stumbled to his feet, and the Ares kids blocked all sides of vision at him. They raised their swords and as they descended, a purple light flashed around Jason and the Ares kids fell back. James was now standing there with a glowing inverted torch over his head there was a butterfly engraved in the torch. He also now had large black wings. "The f#ck, is this normal around here!?!" James was having a mixture of utter panic and shock.

As the flash of purple light David used it as a distraction hit the ares kid in the back of the neck knocking him out before turning to Shawn "told you so" he said in a smug tone before turning to james and said "well that was quick ... " he stooped talking for a second "the wings are new" he said dumbfounded .

Shawn didn't focus on what anyone said, and didn't turn around when there was a flash of purple light. He only focused on trying not to become a Shawn on a stick. Clarrise knocked away one of his swords when he tried to parry her stupid spear. He was having to make due with his original one. He sidestepped another stab and stepped inside her guard before breaking open her defense with a shield break. He kicked her shield out of her grip when it was at her side and she stumbled back grumbling. Shawn brought his sword back up, anticipating another strike. He wasn't disappointed. Another stab was aimed right at his chest. That was when he made another mistake. He tried to parry it. Oh fuck... Electricity surged through his body and he dropped his sword. He fell to a knee and tried to stabilize himself. He looked up and saw Clarrise chuckling at him, wearing the largest most shit eating grin he'd ever seen. "You thought you could beat me? I'm Clarrise, daughter of Ares!"
Shawn was pissed. He wasn't going to take this. He stood back up and used his gift, his eyes changing to a steel gray. "I'm not out yet." He raised his arms and hoped his stupid idea would work. He saw Clarrise's muscles tense up and she began to thrust her spear forward, intending to impale him. He saw her face change from happy to angry. "Sit down! You can't beat me!" He heard her yell, but it sounded muffled to him. Alright, sidestep, grab, hit. Shawn sidestepped the spear and lunged forward toward the shaft. He yanked Clarrise's spear from her hands and watched as her face filled with more anger. He swung it like a baseball bat and hit her straight in the head. The bronze actually dented from the impact and Clarrise fell flat on her ass. Her nose bloody and face full of rage subsided suddenly when she looked behind Shawn. He first thought she was trying to trick him into looking back or something stupid like that. But that wasn't like her. She was strength over smarts. So he dropped he spear and looked back, his eyes turning back to dark brown. "Well then. Looks like you got claimed." Shawn grunted as his adrenaline dissipated.

As the purple glow subsided, the symbol above James faded, but the wings remained. James still was dumbfounded. He turned to David and asked," Is it against the rules for me to like flyover and grab their flag?"

"no clue there is not any rule saying you cant but hay knock yourself out " David said nonchalantly as he quickly kicked the shield away before he muttered " two of my best friends are bird brains".
